Erich has specialised in employment and contract law since being called to the bar early in 1979.

He was Employment Law Adviser to the Institute of Personnel Management (now CIPD) for 15 years advising the Institute and its members on employment law, industrial relations, dispute resolution and associated matters. During this time he also advised and represented members and their companies on employment and related matters.

He was appointed In-House Counsel for the Serco Group plc in 1999. He opened his own chambers, Park Chambers, in 2005 to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the Bar's direct Public Access rules which mean he can now be engaged directly by members of the public and companies to act as a mediator, representative, arbitrator, adviser etc.

Erich has acted as an accredited commercial mediator and an employment / workplace mediator in issues involving companies and organisations of all sizes and in all areas of operation from Government Departments, national organisations responsible for areas of the arts, financial institutions, large charitable trusts, property and other major companies and professional firms right down to small companies and to disputes between individuals. He has also acted as an arbitrator. Erich is also a Visiting Fellow at Kingston University Law School and is a member of the CIArb Panel of Mediators.
