New Venue
I hope that you have received the flyer detailing the new venue at the Bridge House Hotel, Reigate. The Committee are very excited about the move, which has taken considerable planning and some persuasion of Committee Members, but I am sure that the quality of the venue, the opportunity for more user-friendly meetings and the added luxury of a bar and restaurant will enable us to increase attendance at meetings, and ultimately membership of the Institute.
I look forward to welcoming you at the Bridge House Hotel on 16 January 2001 at 1800 hours for pre-meeting refreshments prior to Tony Bingham's presentation at 1830 hours.
Pupillage
Our President, Dr Nael Bunni, at the President's Forum on 17 September 2000 expressed the personal view as to whether the use of pupillage as a method of training Arbitrators is relevant to the Institute in the new millennium.
This comment has been taken up by Her Honour Jean Graham Hall as positive and Francis Miller as negative, and if Members would like to reinforce either of these positions or indeed voice their own opinion I will be delighted to publish it.
News & Views
The Committee is moving forward at an ever-increasing speed to run parallel with initiatives from Headquarters and to provide a Branch that responds to its Members. Part of this, next year, will be to review and revitalise News & Views, but to do this I need two assistant editors, together with feedback from Members on the contents of News & Views.
Therefore, if any Member is interested in assisting with the production, and / or has any ideas - revolutionary or not - please contact one of the Committee Members or me.
Annual General Meeting
Members, please note that there are spaces available on the Committee and any Member who is interested in election to the Committee should contact a Committee Member or me.
