It is with great sadness that we must record the recent deaths of Adrien Sturgeon and Jeremy Hackett.

Adrien was a regular attendee at Branch meetings, before he suffered a massive stroke in January 2007. His quality of life had been severely reduced since then, and he passed away on Sunday 2nd March.

Jeremy was known to many branch members through his prominent involvement with CIArb and many other professional bodies. He was particularly known for his strong views on RICS governance, and at the time of his death (just as this Newsletter went to press) he was in Krakow attending a meeting of RICS Governing Council. He was a colourful, controversial and truly unique character who will be missed by all who knew him.
